I hope I get a pay raise.  I hope my team wins.  I hope I get a good grade.  Those good things to hope for, but did you know that there are teen boys in foster care who are hoping for a family to call their own?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Transition hope is being developed to minister to young men in the 17 to 21 age group who are transitioning out of foster care without a permanent home.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>According to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.adoptuskids.org\/meet-the-children\/children-in-foster-care\/about-the-children\">Adopt US Kids<\/a> &#8220;Each year, approximately 20,000 youth will age out of the foster care system when they turn 18 or 21, or when they finish high school (depending upon the state in which they live.) These children are at increased risk of poor educational outcomes, experiencing homelessness, and being unemployed.&#8221;  Those statistics are alarming and something needs to change.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Our dream includes:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>An extended family<\/li><li>Transitional housing<\/li><li>Job training<\/li><li>Therapy<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Hope, it is a word we use frequently.
